How to get around Holbox
As in many destinations, there are always options to move from one place to another.
Keep in mind that the island of Holbox changes its environment depending on the weather and the season of the year, however, here are the options for you to decide.

Taxi
Taxis can take you almost anywhere on the island. There are taxi ranks both at the ferry and in the centre of the island.
​
Rates vary depending on where you go, they range from 100 to 300 pesos and the maximum capacity is 4 people.
​
At times it can be difficult to find one as there is no central office to call them and request a ride. If you are at the hotel and need a taxi, we will be happy to call one for you, just send us a WhatsApp. They take 5 to 10 minutes to arrive.
Carritos for Rent
Renting a cart can be a convenient option especially if you have little time to explore the island.
​
There are golf carts and UTVs available. Rentals can be for a couple of hours or per day. Rentals of these types of vehicles are $100 for small vehicles and $350 for large vehicles for approximately 24 hours.

Bike Rental
This is a great option to get to know the island, venture out and explore every corner of the island by bike.

The rent is cheap and you can rent it by the day or for just a few hours.

Walking
Walk!
For us the best option is definitely walking. The island is not that big, it is only 1 km / 0.63 mi wide and about 5 km / 3.1 mi long.
​
You can go from one end of the beach to the other, so bring a hat and some sunscreen and explore the entire island.
