How to get around Holbox
As with many tourist destinations, there are always options for getting around.
Keep in mind that Holbox Island's surroundings change depending on the weather and the season. However, here are the options for you to decide.
TAXI
Taxis can take you virtually anywhere on the island. There are taxi stands both on the ferry and in the island center.
Fares vary depending on where you're going, ranging from 100 to 300 pesos, and the maximum capacity is four people.
At times, it can be difficult to find one since there's no central location to call and request a ride. If you're at the hotel and need a taxi, we'll be happy to call one for you; just send us a WhatsApp message. They take 5 to 10 minutes to arrive.
CARTS FOR RENT
Renting a cart can be a convenient option, especially if you're short on time to explore the island.
Golf carts and UTVs are available. Rentals range from a couple of hours to a day.
Small vehicles are rented for $100 USD and large vehicles are rented for approximately $350 USD for 24 hours.

Rentals are affordable, and you can rent one for a day or just a few hours.

WALKING
Walk!
For us, the best option is definitely walking; you're on vacation.
The island isn't that big; it's only 1 km / 0.63 mi wide and about 5 km / 3.1 mi long.
You can walk from one end of the beach to the other, so bring a hat and some sunscreen and explore the entire island.
